A Solar Installer at Centrica Business Solutions is responsible for all tasks required to successfully install energy conservation lighting and solar installation projects including, but not limited to, ensuring a clean and prepared jobsite, and supporting other Technicians and Foreman with lighting and solar installations. You must work in the safest possible manner, following all National Electrical Code guidelines, OSHA guidelines, and Centrica Safety guidelines and process, procedures, and practices. In addition, the Solar Installer is expected to act as a to support and role model for other Technicians which includes promoting safety, quality and adherence to all regulations and best practices.
§ Our Solar Installer contributions to the team include:
§ Provide daily task completion status and updated forecast for the remainder of the work to the foreman
§ Maintain a clean and prepared jobsite and eliminate all possible hazards
§ Perform a variety of tasks involving the use of hand tools, power tools and equipment used to retrofit, replace, and repair lighting fixtures
§ Installations of various LED lighting types including, but not limited to high-bays, wall-packs, troffers, post tops, streetlights, strip kits, retrofit kits, and other specialized architectural style fixtures
§ Installation of lamps, ballasts and other lighting components of within various fixture types
§ Proper installation of simple and advanced lighting control systems
§ Use of meters, circuit tracers, and other diagnostic tools to perform troubleshooting activities for energized electrical work
§ Perform quality control checks on materials during check-in, installation and post-construction activities
§ Solar installation of modules, racking, DC wiring of 1000V – 1500V DC
§ Assist with loading and unloading of trucks/vans and staging material
This is not your average 9am – 5pm position. If you are someone who enjoys traveling and seeing new places this job is for you! Our Technicians and Foreman need to have scheduling flexibility with an ability to travel to different jobsites.
The core components of success are (i.e. must haves):
§ A High School diploma or equivalent
§ 3+ years of solar and lighting construction experience
§ Lighting qualification of NRLT
§ Knowledge of commercial solar construction practices and sequence of work
§ Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
§ Work safely from ladders and various lifts
§ Active Driver’s License

§ NABCEP Certification
§ Experience with energy conservation lighting projects
§ Mechanical experience and/or aptitude
