Position Overview

The Project Management Director is responsible for leading enterprise-wide project management initiatives, overseeing strategic programs, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex cross-functional projects aligned with organizational goals.

This role provides leadership across project governance, PMO operations, resource planning, risk management, stakeholder communication, and operational execution. The Project Management Director plays a critical role in driving organizational efficiency, standardizing project delivery methodologies, and improving project execution performance across global teams.

The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership capabilities, extensive project delivery experience, and the ability to manage multiple large-scale initiatives in fast-paced and highly collaborative environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Project Leadership

• Lead enterprise-level strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives from initiation through execution and delivery
• Align project objectives with overall corporate strategy and business priorities
• Develop long-term project management frameworks that support organizational scalability and operational excellence
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards
• Drive continuous improvement of project execution processes and governance structures

2. PMO Management & Governance

• Establish and oversee Project Management Office (PMO) standards, methodologies, and governance processes
• Develop project management policies, best practices, and delivery frameworks
• Implement project governance models, approval processes, and reporting standards
• Monitor project portfolio performance and resource allocation across departments
• Improve project management maturity throughout the organization

3. Project Planning & Execution

• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and success metrics
• Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution activities
• Manage dependencies, priorities, milestones, and resource coordination
• Ensure effective project documentation and reporting practices
• Drive accountability and execution discipline across project teams

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams
• Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams
• Ensure alignment of project deliverables with business requirements
• Resolve conflicts, remove execution blockers, and improve organizational coordination
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance working environment

5. Risk Management & Problem Resolution

• Identify project risks, operational challenges, and dependency conflicts
• Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans
• Manage project escalations and critical issue resolution
• Ensure proactive risk monitoring throughout the project lifecycle
• Maintain project stability in dynamic business environments

6. Resource & Budget Management

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking
• Optimize utilization of personnel, technology, and operational resources
• Coordinate resource planning across multiple concurrent projects
• Ensure cost efficiency and project profitability where applicable
• Support annual operational and capital planning initiatives

7. Agile & Process Optimization

• Promote Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or Hybrid project management methodologies
• Improve workflow efficiency and project delivery speed
• Implement process automation and operational improvement initiatives
• Lead project retrospectives and lessons-learned sessions
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across PMO functions

8. Project Reporting & Executive Communication

• Prepare executive-level project reports, dashboards, and status updates
• Present project progress, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
• Maintain transparency regarding timelines, resource utilization, and project KPIs
• Support board-level reporting and operational reviews
• Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field required
• MBA or advanced degree preferred
• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum Master, or equivalent certification preferred

Experience

• 8–12+ years of project management or program management experience
• 3–5+ years of leadership experience managing project teams or PMO functions
• Proven success delivering large-scale cross-functional projects
• Experience in SaaS, technology, enterprise software, fintech, consulting, or global organizations preferred
• Strong background in project governance, operational management, and stakeholder communication
