To support the culture of our store, it is essential to have a FULL TIME CHEESE SPECIALIST MANAGER (CHEESEMONGER) for our customers!

Our store has a beautiful International Cheese Department that carries varieties of cheeses from around the country and world along with complimenting specialty spreads, jams, dips and gourmet foods. We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable FOOD SPECIALIST to master this department. This is a Department Manager position. The position consists of working hands-on with customers; properly cutting and wrapping cheese, marketing, and suggestively selling products. The Cheese Specialist needs to be familiar with cheese pairings, conduct tastings and be the expert resource to assist customers with their needs. This is the perfect job for an experienced FOODIE!

The right candidate will be able to curate and manage the cheese department and operate as a member of the management team. The position involves regularly cutting cheese wheels, packaging, pricing, merchandising, inventory and shrink management. It requires independence, efficiency and an entrepreneurial spirit.

The position requirements:

* Outstanding customer service

* A passion and love for speciality foods

* Ability to identify & capability of handling different types of cheeses

* Knowledge of cheese tastes, uses and pairings

* Ability and knowledge of cutting wheels of parmesan and parmigiana reggiano

* Ability to cube varieties of cheeses

* Previous experience with specialty foods

* At least 18 years of age

* Must be able to stand, bend, twist, reach, squat, push, pull, and regularly lift & carry 25+ lbs

* Must be able to work within store coolers, freezers, in and out of cold temperatures

* Must be able to handle all products and cleaning agents in the department

* Must feel comfortable using deli slicer and knives

* Weekend availability required
