Job Summary
Join our team as a Traffic Marking Striper and play a vital role in ensuring safe, clear, and durable roadway markings. In this energetic position, you will operate specialized equipment to apply traffic lines, symbols, and safety markings on roads, parking lots, and construction sites. Your work directly contributes to traffic safety, efficient transportation flow, and the overall quality of infrastructure projects. Duties
- Operate traffic marking equipment such as striping machines, line painters, and spray guns to accurately apply markings according to project specifications.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning and priming areas to ensure proper adhesion of paint or thermoplastic materials.
- Mix and load paints, thermoplastics, or other marking materials into equipment as needed for each job.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously to maintain a secure work environment on busy construction sites or roadways.
- Assist with site setup by coordinating with construction crews and utility locating teams to ensure markings are placed correctly around utilities and obstacles.
- Conduct routine maintenance on marking equipment to keep tools in optimal working condition.
- Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to complete projects efficiently while adhering to quality standards.
Experience
- Prior experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, or front loader trucks is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with construction site procedures and safety practices is essential for success in this role.
- Hands-on experience with paving, utility locating, or general construction work will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of various machinery including dump trucks and Caterpillar equipment is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining high attention to detail.
