Role Description

The Accountant V role is a full-time, on-site position located in the Honolulu Metropolitan Area. This professional will oversee complex accounting duties, including preparing and reviewing financial statements, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Responsibilities include analyzing financial data, developing budgets, reconciling accounts, monitoring funding allocations, preparing reports for audits, and assisting in strategic financial planning for the department.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Financial Reporting and Analysis, including proficiency in preparing comprehensive financial statements and conducting audits.
• Understanding of Cost Management, along with experience in managing financial plans and monitoring expenditures.
• Knowledge of Accounting Standards and Practices, including GAAP and applicable government regulations.
• Proficiency in Spreadsheet Software, Accounting Software, and Financial Systems.
• Excellent Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills for handling complex financial activities and providing impactful recommendations.
• Effective Communication Skills, both written and verbal, for report preparation and stakeholder communication.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree, CPA certification, or previous government accounting experience is a plus.
• Ability to work on-site in Honolulu and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.
