THE CAREER ROADMAP

Junior eCommerce Manager

• Base Salary: $40,000/year
• Commission: None at this level
• Projects: Support AEs on 20+ projects, own up to 5 solo
• Estimated Annual Payout: ~$40,000
• This is where you learn the Arctic Grey way: how we run client calls, how we brief dev teams, how we QA work before it ships. You’re not fetching coffee. You’re in the room, on the calls, doing the work, with senior people guiding you through it.

eCommerce Manager

• Base Salary: $50,000/year
• Commission: 2% of gross sales on owned projects
• Projects: 20 active (15 support, 5 solo)
• Estimated Annual Payout: ~$60,000
• You’ve done this before. You can run a client call without someone holding your hand, write a clear dev brief, and spot a broken mobile layout before the client does. You’re building toward full ownership.

Senior eCommerce Manager

• Base Salary: $65,000/year
• Commission: 3% of gross sales on owned projects
• Projects: 20 active (10 support, 10 solo)
• Estimated Annual Payout: ~$80,000
• Half your book is yours. Clients know your name and trust your judgment. You’re the one other managers come to when they’re stuck. You’re thinking about the business, not just the task list.

Account Executive

• Base Salary: $80,000/year
• Commission: 4% of gross sales on owned projects
• Projects: 20 active (5 support, 15 solo)
• Estimated Annual Payout: ~$110,000
• You own the relationship end to end. You’re closing new work, growing existing accounts, and running your book like a small business inside of Arctic Grey.

Senior Account Executive

• Base Salary: $100,000/year
• Commission: 5% of gross sales on owned projects
• Projects: 25, full ownership
• Estimated Annual Payout: ~$150,000
• This is the top of the ladder. You’re running a significant portion of Arctic Grey’s client portfolio. You’re a leader, a closer, and a strategist.

WHAT THE JOB ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE

You’ll manage a portfolio of active Shopify projects. The split between support work and solo ownership depends on your level (see roadmap above).

Day to day, you will:

• Run daily client calls on video (Mon-Fri)
• Translate client requests into clear instructions for design and dev teams
• Review every piece of completed work before it goes back to the client
• Catch issues before the client sees them (broken layouts, wrong colors, bad spacing, copy errors)
• Keep projects on track, on scope, and on budget
• Communicate proactively when timelines shift or priorities change

This is not a “sit in the background and update a spreadsheet” role. You are the face of Arctic Grey to your clients. They trust you to keep their store running, their projects moving, and their business growing.

A TYPICAL DAY

• Morning: Check Monday.com boards, catch up on Slack threads from dev teams, prep for client calls
• Midday: Back-to-back client video calls, taking detailed notes, setting priorities
• Afternoon: Write clear task briefs for designers and developers, review completed work against client specs, flag anything that’s not right before it ships
• End of day: Update project statuses, send client summaries, plan tomorrow

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Shopify expertise is non-negotiable. You should be able to handle every non-code Shopify task: product data, theme customizer, app setup, metafields, navigation, all of it. If a client asks you how to do something in their Shopify admin, you should know the answer without Googling it. (Junior candidates: we expect you to be learning fast, not perfect on day one.)
• Experience managing eCommerce projects remotely. For Junior level, that could be 1+ year. For Senior AE, we’re talking 5+. You’ve worked with distributed teams and you know how to keep things moving without standing over someone’s shoulder.
• Strong written communication. You’ll write dozens of messages a day to clients and team members. Clear, professional, no fluff.
• A sharp eye for design and QA. You don’t need to be a designer, but you need to spot when something looks wrong, when spacing is off, when a mobile layout is broken, when a button doesn’t match the mockup.
• You can manage competing priorities without dropping balls. 20+ projects means 20+ clients who all think their project is the most important. You need to make each of them feel that way.

NICE TO HAVE

• Agency experience (you’ve juggled multiple client accounts before)
• Familiarity with Klaviyo, Monday.com, or Figma
• Experience with Shopify Plus features (Scripts, Flow, B2B, multi-market)
