Maintenance Professional

Welcome to Newfield House, a family owned, licensed nursing home providing 24-hour nursing care in a beautifully maintained setting. Newfield House has earned a reputation as the best nursing home on the South Shore from years of putting our residents’ and their families’ needs and preferences first.

We are in search of a new maintenance team member with experience in landscaping, irrigation repair, facilities maintenance, and custodial tasks. Pay rate is based upon experience level.

Schedule:

• Tuesday through Thursday and Every Other Weekend
• 7:30am-4:00pm

Qualifications/Experience:

• High school or equivalent
• US work authorization
• Great interpersonal skills. Ability to offer high hospitality to our residents and guests and also work well with our staff.
• Painting, wallpapering, basic plumbing, room rehab, or other maintenance experience a plus but not required.
• Excellent references and a satisfactory background check required.
• Landscaping and lawn equipment maintenance experience a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Janitorial routine work each morning including vacuuming, mopping, running a floor machine, emptying trash, blowing off walkways and entrances.
• Repairs and upkeep including plumbing, equipment maintenance, fixing furniture, wheelchair repair, etc.
• Cleaning of windows, showers, equipment, rugs, furniture, etc.
• Landscaping including mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, planting, watering, pressure washing, irrigation repairs and installation, tree pruning, tree clean up, fall clean up, etc.
• Snow and Ice management.
• For those with experience: Room rehab, construction projects, masonry, painting, wallpapering, flooring, fixture installation, operating excavating equipment, shingling, trim repair, electrical repairs, etc.
