Backend Java Developer Full Time

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Backend Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java-based technologies, microservices architecture, and modern DevOps practices, with the ability to work in an agile, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and services
• Implement new features while ensuring high performance, scalability, and code quality
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirement analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment
• Build reusable components, frameworks, and libraries
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver effective solutions
• Work with containerization technologies to deploy and manage applications (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Contribute to application modernization and cloud adoption initiatives
• Automate build, test, and deployment processes
• Perform code reviews and follow best practices in software development
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical and production issues
• Document technical solutions and share knowledge within the team
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5–8 years of experience in backend development
• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8/11)
• Hands-on experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks
• Experience in building RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with AWS cloud services
• Knowledge of build tools such as Gradle
• Experience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code tools
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Backbase API
• Exposure to banking/fintech domain
• Knowledge of application containerization and modernization strategies
