Position Summary
The Glazier is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial glass and glazing systems, including storefronts, curtain walls, doors, and frameless systems. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Technical Work
· Install windows, doors, storefronts, curtain walls, and glazing systems per specifications
· Measure, cut, fit, and secure glass using appropriate tools, fasteners, and sealants
· Remove and replace damaged or broken glass safely and efficiently
· Review project scope, shop drawings, and specifications prior to job start
· Maintain knowledge of current glazing techniques, systems, and products
Tools, Equipment & Materials
· Safely operate and maintain tools and equipment
· Ensure tools are in proper working condition and stored correctly
· Load, transport, and handle glass and materials to prevent damage
· Confirm materials and equipment are available to meet daily job requirements
Safety & Compliance
· Follow all company policies and OSHA safety standards
· Wear required PPE at all times
· Adhere to jobsite-specific safety requirements
· Report incidents, hazards, and damaged materials promptly
Communication & Team Coordination
· Maintain clear communication with the Field Manager regarding progress, manpower, and material needs
· Document daily work activities and updates
· Coordinate with other trades and jobsite personnel
· Support a professional, respectful, and productive team environment
Customer Service & Problem Solving
· Deliver high-quality workmanship that meets company standards
· Troubleshoot installation challenges and identify effective solutions
· Address customer concerns professionally and promptly
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods
· Lift and carry up to 75 lbs regularly; up to 150 lbs with assistance
· Work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, scissor lifts, and boom lifts
· Work in indoor and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions
· Exposure to noise, chemicals, heavy equipment, and glass-related hazards
· Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Qualifications
· Experience in commercial glazing, construction, or related trade (preferred)
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
· Proficiency with glazing tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
· Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations
· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
· Effective communication and teamwork abilities
· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
· Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and glazing systems (preferred)
· Technical or vocational training (preferred)
· Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Pay: $21.00 – $36.00 per hour
