Lead Technician – Fire Alarm + Security ($50–65/hr, Stoughton MA)

BBS Tech is a privately owned fire alarm and security integrator on the South Shore. We preprogram and prefab in our Stoughton shop so installs go cleaner, faster, and with fewer callbacks.

This is a lead role. You’ll own jobs in the field — scope, schedule, and customer relationship — across integrated fire alarm and security systems.

What you’ll do:

• Lead install, programming, and commissioning across both fire alarm and security systems (Edwards, Lenel, Avigilon, Mercury, Bosch, Hanwha, Aiphone).
• Be the senior tech on integrated jobs where life safety and security tie together. Owning scope, schedule, and the customer relationship on site.
• Run acceptance testing with the AHJ and documenting per NFPA 72.
• Program access control, video, intrusion, and intercom systems alongside the fire work.
• Mentor mid-level techs. We want our senior people raising the floor for everyone
• Be the field expert we trust to walk a client through a complex problem

What you bring:

• 8+ years in commercial fire alarm AND security systems
• NICET Level III minimum in fire alarm systems (Level IV preferred)
• Programming experience on at least 2 fire panels (Edwards/EST, Notifier, Simplex, Silent Knight) AND 2 security platforms (Lenel/S2, Avigilon, Mercury, Bosch, Hanwha, Aiphone)
• Massachusetts Class D Systems Technician license
• Comfortable reading prints, riser diagrams, and submittals
• Clean driving record, can pass a background check
• Real communication skills. You are able to write a clean field report, clearly defining what is required to complete any uncompleted scope or if a scope is complete.

Bonus points:

• NICET Level IV
• MA Master Electrician or Journeyman license
• Factory certifications across multiple manufacturers
• Past Lead, Field Supervisor, or Field Manager experience
• Comfortable presenting to a client or AHJ

Pay: $50.00 – $65.00 per hour
