What You’ll Do

• Build and ship features in Scout’s backend — a .NET C# API that powers our iOS app and browser extensions
• Design and write SQL Server schemas, queries, and Dapper-based data access for new product features
• Work with AWS infrastructure and learn how a real production environment fits together
• Partner directly with our mobile/extensions engineer to define API contracts that the client surfaces depend on
• Squash bugs, improve performance, and collaborate on priorities with the founder and engineering team
• Write clean, documented code and ship through our weekly release cycle

Who You Are

• Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related program
• Comfortable in C# (or another statically typed language and willing to ramp on .NET fast)
• Comfortable writing SQL — you’ve worked with a relational database before
• Curious about cloud infrastructure — AWS experience is a plus, not a requirement
• Have shipped something before, even a class project or side project — we want to see your GitHub
• Self-directed and comfortable in an early-stage environment where requirements evolve
• Eligible to receive academic credit through your university

You’ll learn to design APIs that evolve without breaking the people already using them — the kind of discipline most engineers don’t pick up until years into their career. You’ll also get real exposure to building, deploying, and maintaining production cloud infrastructure on AWS.
