Inspects and oversees construction of structures within the City of Lancaster to ensure that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications by performing the following duties.
- Provides inspections for City and Public construction projects within the right of way.
- Makes sure that contractors follow the City of Lancaster’s design manual and are within specifications for the project.
- Makes sure the contractor is following applicable traffic control plans as submitted.
- Make routine visual inspection daily to ensure that all City designs and specs are followed.
- Provides right of way inspections for permits.
- Plans reviews and attends meetings related to various construction projects.
- Measures distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of structural installations and layouts.
- Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of installations.
- Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications.
- Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standard and approves installation.
- Interprets blueprints and specifications for Contractor and discusses deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction.
- Other duties may be assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Required:
Valid Class C Driver’s License
Class D Water and Wastewater Licenses
