NociQuant is a Minneapolis-based AI biotech focused on reducing the ~80% misdiagnosis rate in chronic pain by building next-generation machine learning tools for clinicians. About the Role

NociQuant’s Summer 2026 Internship Program is designed for students who want to turn advanced AI methods into practical medical solutions. This is a hands-on research and engineering experience where you will work as in a team to develop custom medical AI.

Projects may include:

• Fine-tune and deploy custom LLMs for statistical analysis, interpretation, and clinical decision support.
• Apply computational research methods to design and test novel AI approaches for medical diagnosis.
• End to end software development.
• Build data pipelines to process, analyze, and query large databases.

Program Details

• Flexibility: Set your own work hours and work fully remote.
• Time commitment: 10-15 hours per week.
• Term: May 25 – August 28, 2026.
• Mentorship: Weekly online strategy and technical guidance meetings with the core team.
• Compensation: Unpaid internship; designed as a training and educational experience.
• Academic credit: Internship credit may be available, depending on your institution’s policies.

Who Should Apply

This role is ideal for students who are deeply curious, self-directed, and excited by messy, real-world data problems in medicine. Prior LLM or AI experience is a plus but not required if you’re eager to learn and comfortable picking up new tools quickly.

• Suggested majors: Data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, computational biology, computational neuroscience, public health, or related STEM fields.
• Recommended skills: Python, ML/AI libraries, basic statistics, working with APIs, data wrangling, or prior experience with language models.
