DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role focuses on providing direct consumer care through structured support and daily assistance. You will help maintain a safe and encouraging environment for individuals receiving treatment. As a Psychiatric Aide, you will perform the following duties:
Consumer Support: Assist consumers with daily living tasks and help maintain personal care routines
Condition Monitoring: Observe consumer behavior and report changes to the Registered Nurse
Mobility Assistance: Support consumer movement, positioning, and safe ambulation
Activity Supervision: Monitor and escort consumers during programs, leisure activities, and outings
Emergency Response: Provide appropriate actions during medical or psychiatric emergencies

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM, with a shift differential of $1.25 per hour, and a 30-minute lunch. This is on rotating schedule including weekends and holidays, as well as overtime as needed. This may change based on operational needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Successful completion of the Aide Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
Six months of experience in the care, activities, and personal guidance of individuals with mental health or physical illness or disabilities;or
Certification as a Nurse Aide or Nursing Assistant through the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Legal Requirements:

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
