Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating diverse teaching strategies to meet varied learning needs.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and active participation among students.
• Utilize learning technology and educational resources to enhance instruction and student engagement.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing, and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques, ensuring a safe and productive learning space.
• Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and parents to support individual student needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
• Mentor new or less experienced teachers, sharing best practices in classroom management, lesson planning, and curriculum development.

Skills

• Proven classroom experience with young children in early childhood education settings or elementary grades.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
• Proficiency in literacy education, math instruction, and the integration of library services into lessons.
• Ability to develop creative curriculum content that incorporates Montessori or other specialized teaching methods when applicable.
• Experience working with students with autism or behavioral challenges using effective behavior management techniques.
• Familiarity with learning technology tools, standardized testing procedures, tutoring methods, and classroom management software.
