Job Summary
This individual is responsible for scheduling various work centers to meet customer requirements derived from the master production schedule. This person will also be accountable for managing the inventory levels of work in process items both purchased and manufactured.
Key Responsibilities
Determine products and quantities to manufacture on the most efficient production equipment, using various IT systems such as SAP and MES (ADVARIS or ShopFloor).
Analyze actual loading vs. capacity and identify bottlenecks as well as under-load situations.
Maintain customer service levels at acceptable levels by scheduling production in an efficient manner.
Procurement of raw materials utilizing SAP and ProcureIt to support the master production schedule.
Support the policies and procedures of Logistics Group.
Must understand manufacturing work flows in all areas of the plant.
Review WIP levels to keep obsolete inventory at a minimum.
Coordinate production schedules and accommodate priority requirements.
Must support the production departments and work closely with the supervisors in the plant; work with the supervisors and leads to create next 48 hour line schedule.
Coordinate the workflow for manufacturing operations from quoting items until the material has been completed and entered into finished goods ready to ship.
Must support monthly inventory process.
Conduct physical daily counts of specific RAWs and rod and provide daily reports for production and RAW material.
Place orders of RAW materials needed to facilitate production based on our demand or scheduled orders.
Load, adjust or line up orders in Advaris based on the schedule provided.
Clear any IDOCs.
Respond to sales, or product management based on customer requests and lead time.
Attend 10 AM Tier 2 meeting with leads and supervisors to discuss any issues and distribute the schedule.
Additional duties as assigned, including management requests, inventory management, machine capacity reporting, cost savings reporting and miscellaneous logistics support.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Supply Chain, Business, Computer Science or related engineering field.
3 or more years’ experience in Supply Chain in a manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions
Plant Manufacturing floor conditions not limited to noise and fumes. Frequent standing, walking with significant time on the production floor. Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. Ability to perform visual inspection.
