WIP Accountant Full Time NEW

We’re partnering with the controller of a $91M, employee-owned organization in Concord, CA, to hire an accountant who will serve as key leadership support within the accounting team.

Our partnering controller has progressed internally from staff accountant to senior accountant to assistant controller and now leads a team of 10 across AP, AR, Contract & Compliance, and Union Payroll. As the company continues to grow and expand into new markets, the controller will add a senior accountant to work closely with her in supporting team leadership, process improvement, and ongoing operational growth.

This position offers strong visibility, partnership with leadership, and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in a growing ESOP organization.

Looking specifically for WIP (Work in Progress) experience in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Controller
• Prepare and maintain Work in Progress (WIP) schedules using the percentage of completion methodology
• Analyze job cost reports and compare actual costs to project estimates
• Partner with project managers to validate job status, cost to complete, and revenue projections

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

• Years of Work in Progress (WIP) schedule exposure

• Job costing expertise

• Percentage of completion accounting experience

• Experience with construction ERP systems, such as Viewpoint Vista or similar
