Quality Engineer – PPAP Support Full Time NEW

We are partnering with a well established manufacturing company in the Fort Wayne area to hire an experienced Quality Engineer for a project based role focused on PPAP and part transfer activities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on problem solving, cross functional collaboration, and driving quality deliverables in a fast moving environment.

About The Role

The Quality Engineer will take full ownership of PPAP activities tied to a part transfer project. You’ll work closely with production, project management, customer service, and both internal and customer quality teams to ensure all submissions are accurate, complete, and approved on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of APQP experience (automotive preferred)
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and inspection/test equipment instructions
• Proficiency in blueprint reading, including GD&T and customer/industry specifications
• Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Windows based applications

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all PPAPs associated with the part transfer project
• Coordinate with production, project management, and customer service to ensure PPAPs are completed and approved prior to shipment
• Collaborate with sister plant Quality Engineers and customer SQEs to secure interim and full PPAP approvals
• Address customer feedback and close quality gaps
• Assemble and create PPAP elements, including CORE documents, based on transferred processes
• Ensure alignment of all core documents (Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan)
• Develop and maintain checklists to verify all required elements, including customer specific requirements
• Define critical features for Safe Launch and validate processes on the shop floor (First OK, Safe Launch)
• Lead 8D problem solving activities for PPAP related issues
