Position: Accounting AI Specialist

Type: Contract

Compensation: $60–$80/hour

Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate AI-generated outputs related to journal entries, financial statement preparation, tax calculations, audit procedures, and accounting standards interpretation.
• Create realistic scenarios based on accounting workflows such as month-end close, revenue recognition analysis, tax provision computation, internal control testing, and audit workpapers.
• Annotate, label, and validate data across accounting use cases like lease accounting under ASC 842, consolidation, intercompany eliminations, and SOX compliance.
• Provide structured feedback on AI accuracy in areas such as US GAAP, IFRS, IRC, PCAOB standards, and professional ethics.
• Collaborate asynchronously with research teams to refine evaluation frameworks for accounting-domain AI.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• 3+ years of professional experience at a public accounting firm (Big 4, national, regional, or local), corporate accounting department, or government/nonprofit finance function.
• Background in one or more areas such as external audit, tax, financial reporting and controllership, internal audit, and forensic accounting.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate accounting workflows into structured evaluation tasks.
• Clear written communication and attention to detail.

Preferred

• CPA license or CPA exam progress.
