Customs & Logistics Specialist (Export)Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Customs & Logistics Specialist to manage export operations and ensure full compliance with customs regulations, logistics coordination, and financial requirements. This role plays a key part in supporting cross-border projects between the United States and China.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate freight forwarders through quotation comparison, negotiate terms, and establish cooperation agreements;
• Determine appropriate shipping solutions (FCL/LCL/bulk cargo) based on cargo type, including small or special shipments;
• Execute customs declaration authorization via the Electronic Port system and coordinate with customs brokers to ensure compliance;
• Coordinate booking with freight forwarders and communicate with suppliers to confirm invoice descriptions, product details, and documentation requirements in alignment with financial and tax compliance (including export tax refund requirements);
• Prepare and review export documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, contracts, and customs declaration materials;
• Track shipment status and proactively resolve logistics issues or delays;
• Collect and verify logistics-related documents (invoices, bills, compliant tax invoices), reconcile costs, and initiate payment requests;
• Monitor payment progress to ensure timely settlement;
• Consolidate export data and documentation into reports for the finance team to support accounting and export tax refund processes;
• Continuously improve customs and logistics workflows to enhance efficiency and minimize compliance risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, or related fields;
• Minimum 2 years of experience in export customs, international logistics, or freight operations;
• Solid understanding of export customs procedures, documentation, and basic export tax refund practices;
• Familiarity with Electronic Port systems and coordination with customs brokers and freight forwarders;
• With the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with stakeholders in the U.S. and China;
• Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work across suppliers, logistics providers, and internal finance teams;
• Detail-oriented, responsible, and highly organized with strong risk awareness;
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in engineering, construction, or equipment export projects;
• Familiarity with ocean freight, air freight, and multimodal transportation;
• Hands-on experience with export tax refund processes;
• Experience supporting cross-border operations between China and the U.S.

Pay: $48,318.00 – $64,771.00 per year
