The Impact You’ll Be Contributing to Moloco:

• We’re seeking a software engineer to help us design, develop and maintain the backend of our state of the art Moloco Commerce Media (MCM) product
• You will be responsible for developing an ML-based online advertising platform for the rapidly growing retail media industry
• You will play a pivotal role building and developing our enterprise-ready solution. We’ve determined clear market fit and are now seeking senior and staff engineers to refine the MCM product
• You will lead feature development, design, optimization, testing, and maintenance of software applications and solutions for internal and external end users
• You will mentor others on the team and have the opportunity to lead high-impact projects

The Opportunity:

• Design and ship agentic software that helps advertisers manage campaigns through natural language interfaces and intelligent automation
• Build customer-facing applications that combine LLM capabilities with robust backend systems—from conversational campaign creation to AI-assisted performance insights
• Own the full stack: React/TypeScript frontends, Go/Python/Java services, and the infrastructure that connects them
• Collaborate closely with PM, data science, and partner teams to shape product direction and turn ambiguous goals into shipped features
• Operate what you build: dashboards, alerts, runbooks, and a sustainable on-call rotation
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design discussions
• Prototype and explore what’s next—advanced analytics, creative-level reporting, and AI capabilities we haven’t imagined yet

How Do I Know if the Role is Right For Me?

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Full-stack development experience—you’re comfortable across the frontend, backend, and the glue in between
• Hands-on experience building LLM-based applications (agents, tool use, prompt engineering, or similar)
• System design and development skills; from gathering requirements to design to implementation to production
• Experience in Cloud/Big Data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCE, GCP, Beam, Spark, BigTable, BigQuery etc.)
• Programming fundamentals, testing, and common algorithms and structures
• Track record of shipping customer-facing products
• Growth mindset—you stay current on emerging technologies and enjoy sharing knowledge with others
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Compensation & Benefits

U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and well-being benefits and perks. U.S.-based employees also receive up to 12 scheduled paid holidays per calendar year and one Thrive Day off per quarter. Additionally, all employees have Flexible Time Off (FTO).

The successful candidate may be eligible for a bonus and equity awards. Eligibility and amounts are determined by performance and the terms of the applicable plans.

The location for this role is listed above. For base pay range purposes, location-based compensation is grouped into the following regions. Your region is determined by your assigned work location.

• Region B: Seattle Office, Seattle, Los Angeles/Orange County, San Diego, Austin, Boston, Washington DC Metro Area, Miami
• Region C: All other U.S. locations

Region A:

$188,000—$259,440 USD

Region B:

$169,200—$233,496 USD

Region C:

$159,800—$220,524 USD
