Instructor/Examiner is responsible for performing all aspects of instruction/examination for the Commercial Truck Driving program.
Essential Functions

Instruction
Performs CDL Test and may provide instruction in theory and practical applications of the discipline in accordance with state standards
Conducts CDL tests and may on occasion, teach face to face, hybrid or on campus, as needed, in accordance with college faculty loads
Instructs courses in a classroom/lab/clinic/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry as needed.
Utilizes current technology in the classroom/lab/clinic
Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives
Grades all test in a timely manner
Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues
Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate for the CTD discipline.
Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports
Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the discipline
Attends professional development training, workshops, seminars and conferences
Safety/Technology
Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline Commercial Truck Driving program in Carrollton.
Supports faculty to ensure all equipment is in working order
Suggests new/updated technology to remain current with trends and developments within the field.
Ensure students are instructed in and follow all safety rules for operating equipment and using tools.
Ensure classrooms and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained at all times -
Curriculum/Student and Program Learning Outcomes
Develops program curriculum, syllabi, goals and objectives
Prepares all documentation necessary and/or plans for testing or instruction
Works collaboratively with faculty within discipline to establish, measure and evaluate program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success and submits to appropriate program chair/director.
Submits reports and data with respect to governing bodies
Supports Program Director/Division Deans/Associate Deans
Requests and maintains supplies and equipment
Prepares budget requests
Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts
Serves on committees and project assignments as necessary
Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This position spends majority of time on the range which is outdoors and subject to seasonal weather conditions.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move classroom/lab equipment and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time instructional position. Work load is Monday-Friday day/evening hours. Weekends based on need.
Travel
Travel to other campuses is a possibility for teaching assignments, meetings, trainings, and professional development.
Required Education and Experience
Certificate in Commercial Truck Driving from an accredited institution and/or three (3) years out of the past seven (7) years of over-the-road (OTR) experience.
Current Georgia Class A CTDL License
Clean MVR for past seven (7) years
Current DOT Medical Card
Successful candidate must pass an FMCSA drug test and will be subject to all FMCSA drug testing rules and regulations.
Certified State of Georgia DDS Examiner
Preferred Education and Experience
Accredited Industry Training
Directly Related Teaching experience at the post-secondary level
Knowledge and experience in the use of the Internet, Email, Windows, Microsoft Office,
10+ years over the road experience
