About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and automation-focused Quality Assurance Engineer II to join our Mobile team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of high-quality mobile applications designed to manage and control Hudl’s smart camera systems. These applications enable coaches and administrators to automate sports video recording and uploading processes, eliminating the need for dedicated camera operators. Your primary responsibility will be to lead testing efforts within your cross-functional squad, applying your expertise to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance. You will actively contribute to technical testing discussions, challenge the team to maintain high standards, and help shape our automation strategies to accelerate development cycles.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of software testing experience
• Strong understanding of the product lifecycle and quality assurance processes
• Hands-on experience with iOS and Android mobile app automation testing
• Proficiency in creating, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a creative approach to breaking software
• Ability to adapt to shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with global teams
• Customer and user experience focus in testing methodologies

Responsibilities

• Lead and own the testing efforts within your squad, ensuring comprehensive test coverage
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for mobile applications
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Design, and Scrum teams to deliver high-quality products
• Identify, document, and track bugs, working with teams to prioritize and resolve issues promptly
• Advocate for automation best practices and help define testing strategies that align with development speed
• Participate in technical testing discussions, providing insights and challenge to improve quality standards
• Continuously evaluate and implement new testing tools and techniques, including contract testing and AI-driven testing aids if applicable
• Ensure that all testing activities align with project timelines and quality expectations
