Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Local Class A Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to deliver freight efficiently within local routes. Your expertise in various types of cargo and driving techniques will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Drive a variety of trucks including refrigerated trailers, car trailers
• Load and unload freight using electric pallet jack or, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
• Deliver freight accurately along designated routes, adhering to schedules and customer requirements
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, identifying maintenance needs or safety concerns
• Log book exempt (routes within 150 air miles)
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
• Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably with delivery driver experience in various cargo types
• Proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles and operating specialized equipment such as electric pallet jacks
• Knowledge of route driving, load & unload procedures, and safety protocols for freight handling
• Ability to handle different types of freight including refrigerated goods, loading and unloading cars
• Strong attention to detail for vehicle inspections and documentation accuracy
• Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform duties requiring physical exertion when necessary
