Port Erie Plastics, a world leader in custom molded products, is seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join our team. Join us as we continue building on over 70 years of innovation in plastics manufacturing.

Position Summary

The EHS Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all Environmental, Health, and Safety activities to proactively drive programs and foster a culture that ensures a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. This highly visible role requires daily interaction with employees and a strong presence on the manufacturing floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations, including OSHA and environmental requirements
• Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping for all EHS activities
• Coordinate and track all required employee safety and environmental training programs
• Develop and deliver safety training, including onboarding for new hires
• Lead and support internal and external EHS audits; track corrective actions to completion
• Conduct incident investigations, including detailed root cause analysis and reporting
• Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans, including evacuation procedures and drills
• Manage environmental programs, including:
• Hazardous waste handling and compliance
• Air and water permitting/programs
• Pollution prevention and waste minimization initiatives
• Community Right-to-Know reporting
• Oversee noise exposure monitoring and audiometric testing programs
• Support ISO 14001 Environmental Management System implementation and compliance
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance with OSHA and environmental standards
• Maintain a visible presence on the production floor to promote safe work practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and interact effectively with employees at all levels
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Work Environment

• Primarily office-based with daily time spent in a manufacturing/plant environment
• Exposure to typical industrial conditions, including noise and machinery
